Summer Alps

A chance to explore pastures new, climb to loftier heights, learn new skills, walk in crampons for the first time or just have fun being guided without all the organizational hassle, summer in the alps is a magical place. Much of my work in the summer is guiding for companies such as Mont Blanc Guides, Jagged Globe and KE but I always leave a bit of space for clients who wish to employ a private guide. Below are some suggested itineraries but feel free to come up with your own!

Suggested trips:

  • 6-day introduction to the Alps based in Arolla in Switzerland.
  • 6 days Alpine rock in Chamonix.
  • 6 days Swiss plaisir alpine rock.
  • 6 days introduction to the Alps based in Ailefroide in the Ecrins mountains, near to Grenoble in France.
  • 6 days of 4000ers based in and around Saas Grund and Zermatt in Switzerland.
  • 6 days climb Mont Blanc.
  • 6 or 7 days Chamonix Zermatt Haute route.
  • 6 days private guiding in an area of your choice.

Guiding ratios.

In a few cases the maximum number of clients to a guide is set by the local guides, such as on the Matterhorn (1:1), or Mont Blanc 1:2. In all other cases it is up to the guide to make a decision based on the ability of the clients and prevailing conditions on the mountain. Generally the more technical or exposed the ascent is, the smaller the ratio must be.

Price:- These trips and other private guiding are offered, starting at £350 per day + expenses.

Expenses will vary with the itinerary chosen.
